    Robert Jamison was born about 1750 at Ulster, Ireland.  He emigrated on 20 December 1772.  He married an unknown person on 25 May 1773 at St. Phillips Parrish, Charleston District, SC.  He was granted land 3-b. Pl. Bk. Vol. 19, page 489, 6 January 1773; in Craven County on waters of Rocky Creek; bordered by Robert Coulter, John Casky, Thomas Huston, David Grimbs, Mary Coulter, vacant land; cert. 6 June 1774. Ord. Co. 3 April 1775 for Thomas Singleton. (Colonial Land Grant for 250 Acres in Craven County (now Chester County) SC on 6 June 1774.) He bought land plat for 250 Acres on Bullskin Branch, Camden District, surveyed by William Boyd on 8 December 1786 at Camden District, SC.  He appeared on the census of 1790 at Chester County, SC.  He lived in 1790 at Chester County, SC.  He appeared on the census of 1800 at Chester County, SC.  He appeared on the census of 1810.  He died on 17 February 1813 at Chester County, SC and his estate was probated on 17 February 1813 at Chester County, SC. 

The Family of Robert Jamison

I. Robert G. Jamison born about 1773 Chester County, SC. Carpenter by trade. He witnessed the probate of the estate of John Bailey on 7 March 1836 at Chester County, SC and also witnessed the will of Adam Heath on 6 March 1837 at Chester County, SC.  He was a witness to the sale of the land of Sarah Jamison on 30 November 1840 at Chester County, SC.  His estate was probated on 24 March 1856 at Chester County, SC and he had written a codicil on 28 March 1856.  He left a will on 2 May 1856.  In his will, he leaves everything to his mother Esther McNeill on 2 May 1856.

II. Gardner Jamison born about 1774 Chester County, SC, died about 1826 Chester County, SC; married Sarah _______.  He witnessed the will of Alexander Kennedy in August 1797.  He appeared on the census of 1800 at SC.  He appeared on the census of 1810 at SC.  He witnessed the probate of the estate of Samuel Ferguson Sr. on 13 November 1817 at Chester County, SC and appeared on the census of 1820 at SC.  He petitioned asking that the Legislature vest in him and his heirs a tract of land in Chester District along Rocky Creek on 21 November 1823 at Chester County, SC.  He died about 1826 at Chester County, SC.  He was listed as one of the Trustees of Bethlehem Meeting House (See Page 5 of "The Revolutionary Soldiers of Catholic Presbyterian Church-Chester Historical Society).  He left a will on 1 October 1826.  His estate was probated in December 1826 at SC.  He also witnessed the probate of the estate of John Bailey on 7 March 1836 at Chester County, SC as well as witnessing to the will of Adam Heath on 6 March 1837 at Chester County, SC.  He witnessed the sale of the land of Sarah Jamison on 30 November 1840 at Chester County, SC.

A. Robert Jamison born 11 July 1816. He witnessed the probate of the estate of Gardner Jamison (Sr?) in December 1826 at SC.  He appeared on the census of 1840.  He witnessed the sale of the land of Sarah Jamison on 30 November 1840 at Chester County, SC.  He married Ann Ross in 1844.  He was the Administrator for his brother, Gardner Jamison on 22 November 1847.  He witnessed the will of Hugh Ross Sr. on 21 April 1851 at Chester County, SC and he witnessed the probate of the estate of Esq. David Jamieson on 12 May 1854 at SC.

B. Gardner Jamison born 5 August 1817 Chester County, SC, died before 22 November 1847 Chester County, SC. Gardner witnessed the probate of the estate of Robert Jamison on 17 February 1813 at Chester County, SC.  He witnessed the sale of the land of Sarah Jamison on 30 November 1840 at Chester County, SC.  He died before 22 November 1847 at Chester County, SC and was buried before 22 November 1847 at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church.  His estate was probated on 22 November 1847 at Chester County, SC.  His brother "Robert Jamison" was the Administrator of his estate. He died intestate on 22 November 1847 at Chester County, SC.

III. Capt. James Jamison born about 1775 Chester County, SC, married H. Melissa ______.  In the SC 1810 census, he had two sons under 10, three daughters under 10, both husband and wife are between 26-44. He witnessed the probate of the estate of Robert Jamison on 17 February 1813 at Chester County, SC and also witnessed the probate of the estate of Gardner Jamison (Sr?) in December 1826 at SC.  He witnessed the probate of the estate of James McKinstry on 8 March 1830 at Chester County, SC  and witnessed the sale of the land of Sarah Jamison on 30 November 1840 at Chester County, SC.  In the "Bill of Sale" of his brothers’ estate (John Jamison) he is listed multiple times as "Capt" on 27 June 1845.  In an amendment to the Will of Robert G. Jamison, the wife of James Jamison is added to the list of people to have life estates on the estate- See Probate Papers for Robert G. Jamison-Chester County, SC on 28 March 1856.  He wrote a codicil on 28 March 1856.  From the "Sales Bill of the estate of Robert G. Jamison" - he as was also a carpenter on 26 April 1856.  His estate was probated on 9 March 1870.

IV. Sally Jamison born about 1776 Chester County, SC, married 1812,  _____ McCaw.  She was the Administrator of the Estate of Robert Jamison, her brother. As of 1812, her married name was McCaw. She witnessed the probate of the estate of Robert Jamison on 17 February 1813 at Chester County, SC.
 
V. Rebecca Jamison born about 1778 Chester County, SC, married 1812, Archibald Boyd.  As of 1812, her married name was Boyd. She witnessed the probate of the estate of Robert Jamison on 17 February 1813 at Chester County, SC

VI. Ann Jamison born about 1780 Chester County, SC, married 1812, John Cherry.  As of 1812, her married name was Cherry. She witnessed the probate of the estate of John Cherry in January 1833 at Chester County, SC.  She witnessed the sale of the land of Sarah Jamison on 30 November 1840 at Chester County, SC.

VII. John Jamison born about 1783 Chester County, SC, died before 9 May 1845. He appeared on the census of 1810.  He witnessed the probate of the estate of Robert Jamison on 17 February 1813 at Chester County, SC.  He witnessed the probate of the estate of Joseph Robison on 17 October 1829 at Chester County, SC.  He appeared on the census of 1840 at SC.  He died before 9 May 1845.  His estate was probated on 9 May 1845 at SC.

VIII. David Jamison born about 1785 Chester County, SC, died 14 January 1833, married Unknown. He bought land Samuel Martin and Mary his wife of Kershaw County for $80 to David Jamieson of same, planter, tract of land on Jumping Gully, on the west side of Wateree River in the county aforesaid, 100 acres, granted to the said Samuel Martin -3 April 1786, recorded in Grant Book "HHHH", page 424, except a certain piece of ten feet square wherein some of the children of said Samuel Martin are buried, 6 September 1800. Samuel Martin (Seal), Mary Martin (X), Wit: Isaac Rosse Junr, Saml Mathis. Proved by the oath of Saml Mathis - 4 August 1800. Mary Martin, wife of Samuel Martin, relinquished dower 6 September 1800 before Saml Mathis, J.Q. John Adamson for ten shillings sterling, quits claim to David Jamieson, 6 September 1800 on 6 December 1800 at Kershaw County, SC-Bk "C", pages 98-99, Kershaw County, SC. He made a slave purchase in 1804 shown in Kershaw County Deed Book "E", page 300- Camden- 5 January 1804.

    He appeared on the census of 1810 at SC.  He bought land Robert Barkley and James Barkley, sold to David Jamison for $85, lot number 28 in the village of Winnsbough, 4 of June 1810. Robert Barkley (LS), James Barber (sic) (LS), Wit: Caleb Clark, Hugh Barkley. Proved by the oath of Hugh Barkley 7 May 1811 before James Beaty J.P.

   Fairfield County Deed Book "U", pages 24-26 (Film Roll - C303) on 4 June 1810 at Winnsboro, Fairfield County, SC.  He sold the land David Jamison, of District aforesaid, sold to John McMaster of same, for $110, lot in village of Winnsborugh, lot number 28, May 7, 1811. David Jamison (Seal), Wit: John Barkley, Wm. Akison. Mary Jamison (O), wife of David Jamison, relinquished dower 7 May 1811. Proved by the oath of Wm. Akison 7 May 1811 before J. Beaty, J.P.

    Fairfield County Deed Book "U", pages 24-26 (Film Roll - C-303) on 7 May 1811 at Winnsboro, Fairfield County, SC.  He married Mary Jamison on 7 May 1811 at Implied Marriage - Land Sold- Fairfield County Deed Book, Fairfield County, SC.  He bought land John Sullivan of District aforesaid for $283 to David Jamison of same, carpenter, 283 acres in Orangeburg District, St. Mathews Parrish, on branch of Goodboys Holes, waters of Four Holes, granted 7 March 1788, dated 7 March 1812. Jas Sullivan (Seal), Wit: Thomas M'Cully, William Akison. Proved by the oath of Wm Akison 9 March 1812 before James Beaty, J.P. (Orangeburg records were destroyed in Civil War of 1865)

    Fairfield County Deed Book "V", pages 98-101(Film Roll - C303) on 7 March 1812 at Fairfield County, SC.  He sold the land John Sullivan of District aforesaid for $400 to David Jamison of same, carpenter, 400 acres granted to James Cobbin 9 April 1785 on Poplar, waters of Santee in St. Mathews Parrish, Orangeburg District, conveyed to said John Sullivan 18 December 1787, dated 7 March 1812.    Fairfield County Deed Book "V", pages 98-101(Film Roll - C303) on 7 March 1812 at Fairfield County, SC.  He bought land John Sullivan of District aforesaid for $200 to David Jamison of same, carpenter, 200 acres in Orangeburg District, St. Mathews Parrish, on Poplar Branch, waters of Santee, adj. said Sullivan, granted 7 March 1788, dated 7 March 1812.    Fairfield County Deed Book "V", pages 98-101(Film Roll - C303) on 7 March 1812 at Fairfield County, SC.  He Bought all "Household Furniture" from a John Sullivan- Fairfield District- Deed Book "V", page 140 on 9 November 1812.  He witnessed the probate of the estate of Robert Jamison on 17 February 1813 at Chester County, SC.  He sold the land David Jamison of Kershaw District for $500 to Powell McRa also of Kershaw District, 100 acres on Jumping Gully Creek, surveyed for Samuel Martin 29 Oct 1791, for 100 acres and granted to him 3 April 1791, dated 3 July 1817.     On 3 July 1817 at Kershaw, SC, he sold the land for the sum of $316.50, sold 211 to Wm. McCaw, Jr. of same, part of the land where one he now lives containing more or less from a late survey granted to Wm. McCollins on 20 July 1772, on Dyes Creek, on Green Pond Branch, dated July 1824. It was witnessed by John McCaw, Sarah McCaw. Proved by the oath of John McCaw on 13 July 1824 before David Jamieson, J. P.

    On 13 July 1824 at Chester County, SC, he witnessed the probate of the estate of Gardner Jamison (Sr?) in December 1826 at SC.  He was buried at the Catholic Presbyterian Church.  He appeared on the census of 1830.  He left a will on 14 January 1833 at Richland County, SC.  He died on 14 January 1833 at Richland County.  His estate was probated on 14 January 1833 at Richland County, SC.

A. Wylie James Jamison witnessed the probate of the estate of David Jamison (Sr.) on 14 January 1833 at Richland County, SC.

B. Joseph Jamison born Kershaw County, SC. He witnessed the probate of the estate of David Jamison (Sr.) on 14 January 1833 at Richland County, SC.

C. Charlotte Jamison born Kershaw County, SC, married _______ Dancer.  She witnessed the probate of the estate of David Jamison (Sr.) on 14 January 1833 at Richland County, SC.

D. William Jamison born Kershaw County, SC. He witnessed the probate of the estate of David Jamison (Sr.) on 14 January 1833 at Richland County, SC.

E. John Jamison born about 1796 Kershaw County, SC, died 3 April 1874 Fairfield County, SC, married Elizabeth B. _______ born 20 March 1830, died 20 March 1915 Fairfield County, SC.  He was soldier Pvt. in the War of 1812- SC index- Felders Battalion- Artillery SC Militia.  In 1812, he witnessed the probate of the estate of David Jamison (Sr.) on 14 January 1833 at Richland County, SC.  He appeared on the census of 1840 at SC.  NOTE: Designated him (1-A?) because another "John Jamison" (I.D.#1404) is also in 1840 Chester County census, and could be a son (Correct age) or possible Nephew? See "John Jamison" (1-B?) in 1840.  He "John Jamison, a ruling elder of Hopewell, died at his residence in Chester County, SC. on the 3rd of April, 1874 in the 78th year of his age." From the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Death & Marriage Notices, Volume II, 1866 - 1888 - Page 39 in 1874. He left a will on 24 March 1874 at Chester County, SC.  He died on 3 April 1874 at 1391 Hopewell Church Road, Hopewell A.R.P Church Cemetery, Blackstock, Fairfield County, SC.

F. Robert Jamison born about 1800 Kershaw County, SC. Possible son of David Jamison of Kershaw, shown in Chester County Marriages 1778 - 1879, Implied in Chester County, SC, Probate and Equity Records. Will of Abraham Ross - Apt. 87, Pack 1384, Frames 113, 119, Lived 1844; Will of Jane Ross - Apt. 101, Pack 1704, Frames 074, 076, Lived 1855

    He was a Corporal in the War of 1812- SC Index to Military Service- Felders Battalion- Artillery- SC Militia in 1812.  He appeared on the census of 1830 at SC.  Of the 3 females shown in 1830 Census in the 20-30 age range, one may have been his wife, two may have been sisters, and the oldest female, age 40-50 may have been his mother, or mother-in-law in 1830.  He witnessed the probate of the estate of David Jamison (Sr.) on 14 January 1833 at Richland County, SC.  He appeared on the census of 1840 at SC.

G. Dr. Elias Harrison Jamison born 1805 Kershaw County, SC, died between July 1875 and December 1875 Fairfield County, SC.

    "E. H. Jamison" is shown as a Confederate soldier, Company "D", 23rd Batt'n, Virginia Infantry.  He was born in 1805 at Kershaw County, SC.  He witnessed the probate of the estate of David Jamison (Sr.) on 14 January 1833 at Richland County, SC.  He married Georgiana Duke, daughter of Samuel Duke and Isabella Duke, between 1837 and 1838 at Richland County, South Carolina.  He appeared on the census of 5 April 1850 at 1850 Census - Page #262 -Lines 29 -37, Fairfield County, SC.  He bought land for the sum of $250 sold all that parcel or tract of lands bounded on Flat Branch waters of Twenty-Five Mile Creek of Wateree River, bounded on the NW by E.H. Limas, North and all other Lafayette Duke Lands or the balance of land from which this was cut off and contains 100 Acres by survey- dated 25 January 1853- Signed F.M.L. Duke

   Fairfield County Deed Book "UU", pages 271-272 (Film Roll C-311) dated 18 March 1854 - on 18 March 1854 at Fairfield County, SC.  He sold the land Elias H. Jamison of the above named state and district sold for $800 to John B. Cloud, tract on Flat Branch, waters of Twenty Five Mile Creek, waters of the Wateree River, adjacent to D.J. Cloud, Ralph Wilson, Lafayett Duke, per plat made 25 January 1853, dated 13 August 1856. E.H. Jamison (LS), Wit: Samuel Lawhon. Jona Watts. Proved by the oath of Samuel Lawhon 13 August 1856. Recorded 20 January 1857 on 14 August 1856 at SC.  He appeared on the census of 11 August 1860 in the household of Pvt. George A. Jamison at Kershaw County, SC.  He bought land John B. Cloud to E.H. Jamison

    For the sum of $300 all these tracts or parcels of land on Twenty-Five Mile Creek waters of Wateree River being in three different tracts or lots, one lot containing two acres more-or-less bounded on the west my Michael Ferry Road, on all other sides by lands now belonging to Delphia D. Watts, formerly belonging to Johns Simons,......, one tract containing One Hundred acres more-or-less, bounded by ......., and one tract containing sixty acres more-or-less, signed J.B Cloud, Wit: L.E. Cloud, F.M.L. Duke

    Fairfield County Deed Book "WW", pages 271-272 (Film Roll C-312) on 25 January 1862 at SC.  He left a will on 10 June 1875.  He died between July 1875 and December 1875 at Fairfield County, SC.

1. George A. Jamison born 1836 Fairfield County, SC, married 1860, M. A. _____ born 1840 Richland County, SC. He appeared on the census of 11 August 1860 at Kershaw County, SC.  He was soldier enlisted at Camp Woodward, Summerville, Dorchester County, SC, served in 6th S.C. Vol. Inf., enlisted 1st Company "D", then re-enlisted 2nd. Co. "G", April 11, 1862. Detached duty as a shoemaker, 27 December 1863 to 10 March 1864 - KIA 1 Oct. 1864 at Chaffin's Farm, Richmond, VA on 14 June 1861 at Summerville, Dorchester County, SC.  He died on 1 October 1864.

Arthur Lovet Jamison born 1840 Fairfield County, SC, married about 1860, Maranda ______ born about 1842 Fairfield County, SC.  He was soldier Unit/ Regiment: 7th Battalion - Co."B" (Enfield Rifles) South Carolina Infantry (Nelson's Battalion); enlisted at: Winnsboro, SC, - November 16, 1861; killed in Action: Drewry's Bluff, VA - May 16th, 1864; on Last Roll: February 29 to August 31st, 1864; on 16 November 1861.  He was buried on 16 May 1864.  He died on 16 May 1864 at KIA - Drewry's Bluff, Richmond, VA.

a. Caroline Jamison born about 1861 Fairfield County, SC, married 3 July 1856, Capt. Micah Jenkins. She appeared on the census of 16 June 1880 in the household of William R. Watts at Fairfield County, SC.

4. William Harrison Jamison born 1 May 1842, died 29 January 1905 Lexington County, SC, married 1859 in Fairfield County, SC to Harriet C. Hood born 24 October 1835 Fairfield County, SC, daughter of Elias Hood and Susan Neely. He was soldier in Inf. 7th Bat. (Enfield Rifles) Co. "B"- South Carolina; enlisted at: Church Flats, SC, 27 February 1863; paroled: Greensboro, NC – 1 May 1865; detailed as ambulance driver, 15 April 1863 through 31 October 1864 on 15 April 1863.  He appeared on the census of 5 August 1870 at 1870 Fairfield County, SC Census.  He witnessed the sale of the land of Rev. Christopher Columbus Alexander Jamison on 5 April 1876 at Fairfield County, SC.  He appeared on the census of 2 June 1880 at 1880 Fairfield County, SC Census - FHL Film# 1255229, Page 147B, Township 6, Fairfield County, SC.  He sold the land James T. Brown - Fairfield County Deed Book "AU", page 201 (Film Roll C7702) On 27 March 1902 at SC.  He sold the land in William H. Jamison to W. W. Cloud signed 26 January 1904 for the sum of $8.00. William Jamison died on 29 January 1905 and was buried after 29 January 1905 at First Baptist Church Cemetery, Gaston, Lexington County, SC.

a. William Elias Jamison born 18 June 1867 Fairfield County, SC, married 1) M. O. ________ at Blythewood, SC and married 2) 26 January 1904, Maggie _______.  He was also known as W. E. Jamison.  He was listed in newspaper story, as a stone contractor living in Trenton, SC.  He appeared on the census of 1870.  He appeared on the census of 5 August 1870 in the household of Pvt. William Harrison Jamison at 1870 Fairfield County, SC Census.  He appeared on the census of 2 June 1880 in the household of Pvt. William Harrison Jamison at 1880 Fairfield County, SC Census - FHL Film# 1255229, Page 147B, Township 6, Fairfield County, SC.  He witnessed the sale of the land of Pvt. William Harrison Jamison on 27 March 1902 at SC.  He witnessed the sale of the land of Pvt. William Harrison Jamison on 26 Jan 1904 at Fairfield County, SC.  He is listed in obit in the newspaper, as a half-brother to William Preston Broome, and living in Columbus, GA on 24 January 1916.  He died on 5 November 1930 at Blythewood, Richland, SC, at age 63.

b. Mattie L. Jamison born 1870. She appeared on the census of 2 June 1880 in the household of Pvt. William Harrison Jamison at 1880 Fairfield County, SC Census - FHL Film# 1255229, Page 147B, Township 6, Fairfield County, SC.

c. Harriet Jamison born February 1871 Fairfield County, SC.  Age about 4 Months- 1870 Census, Fairfield County, SC, pp #4, lines 19-24.  She appeared on the census of 5 August 1870 in the household of Pvt. William Harrison Jamison at 1870 Fairfield County, SC Census. 

d. Francis Isabelle Jamison born 14 March 1873 Fairfield County, SC, died 3 April 1950, married 1888 to Joseph E. Glover born 12 April 1871, died 4 February 1950. She appeared on the census of 2 June 1880 in the household of Pvt. William Harrison Jamison at 1880 Fairfield County, SC Census - FHL Film# 1255229, Page 147B, Township 6, Fairfield County, SC. She witnessed the sale of the land of Pvt. William Harrison Jamison on 27 March 1902 at SC. 

5. Josephine Jamison born 1844 Fairfield County, SC, married John M. Hall born 1838 Anderson County, SC.

6. Agnes Eugenia Jamison born 15 June 1846 Fairfield County, SC, died 8 June Kershaw County, SC, married Stephen Taylor Blanton born about 1847 NC, died 2 February 1899.  She witnessed the sale of the land of Pvt. William Harrison Jamison on 27 March 1902 at SC.

a. Charley H. Blanton born 11 January 1871 Richland County, SC, died 24 September 1880 Richland County, SC.  Buried at Asbury Baptist Church, Blythewood, Richland County, SC, at age 9.

b. Oskar D. Blanton born 19 December 1874 Richland County, SC, died 13 January 1876 Richland County, SC.

c. Luther Blanton born 6 September 1885, died 11 February 1891 Richland County, SC.  Buried at Asbury Baptist Church, Blythewood, Richland County, SC, at age 5.

7. Rev. Christopher Columbus Alexander Jamison born 1848 Fairfield County, SC, died 7 November 1919 Gwinnett County, GA, married 27 December 1893 in Floyd County, GA to Florence Mitchell Hill born 21 January 1870 GA, died 6 July 1950 Walton County, GA. 

    As of 1848, his full name of "Christopher Columbus Alexander Jamison" was given to me by his eldest daughter- Alma Hill Jamison. He appeared on the census of 5 October 1850 at 1850 Fairfield County, SC Census, Page 262, Fairfield County, SC. He appeared on the census of 20 August 1860 in the household of Jane E. Ruff at 1860 Richland County, SC Census, Richland County, SC.  From the South Carolina Archives & History Center- Confederate information: C.A. Jamison, Pvt.; Company "F"- 7th Battalion (Enfield Rifles) South Carolina Infantry; enlisted at: Fort Johnson, S.C. – 27 February 1864; wounded: Virginia, 15 May 1864; paroled: Greensboro, N.C. - May 1, 1865; on Last Roll: September/October 1864; Remarks: Admitted with minie ball wounds in right shoulder to Jackson Hospital, Richmond, VA, 15 May 1864 on 15 May 1864 at Co. "F", 7th Batt. SC Inf.  He appeared on the census of 21 July 1870 at Richland County, SC. 

    From Fairfield County Deed Book "AE", Pages 277-278 (From SC Archives microfilm C316) on 5 April 1876 at Fairfield County, SC;  He appeared on the census of 15 June 1880 at 1880 GA Census, Hancock County, GA.  He was New Tag in 1880, at the Conference at Rome, GA, he was received on trial, was ordained Deacon in 1883, by Bishop Pierce, and was ordained Elder in 1885 by Bishop Wilson in 1883 at Rome, Floyd County, GA.  He married Florence Mitchell Hill, daughter of Pvt. Hiram David Hill and Florence Taylor Mitchell, on 27 December 1893 at First United Methodist Church, Rome, Floyd County, GA.  He appeared on the census of 7 June 1900 at Bartow County, GA.  He bought land Purchased 54 acres from Mrs. Martha E. Pass- in the Sixth Land District, Gwinnett County,GA, Lots 304, & 305 and the old place of Meshack Boyce, deceased, and further known as Lot #6 of the G.L. Veal Survey made 18 January 1907. He paid $3,150 (Grantee Deed Book #33, page #117) on 8 November 1917 at Gwinnett County, GA.  He sold the Mortgaged Land to C.E. Harris for 1,650 (Deed Book 34, Page#8) on 8 November 1917 at Gwinnett County, GA.  He sold the land Sold to J. R. Singleton 1/2 interest to secure a $500 loan on 30 November 1917 at Gwinnett County, GA. 

    (From "The Official Journal-North Georgia Conference of the Methodist Church, South- Fifty-Third Session- Atlanta, GA- Pages 82,83 & 84- A brief History of Rev. Christopher Alexander Jamison" Dated 1919- ") Christopher Alexander Jamison was the son of  E.H. and Georgiana Duke Jamison and was born in Fairfield County, S.C., about 1852. It is impossible to fix the exact date, because his mother died while he was quite young and the family record was lost, but he was about 67 years old. 
After his mother's death, he lived with his grandmother for a while, and when she died, he made his home with a sister, leaving that home after staying there for a season.

    At the very early age of 12 years, during the Civil War, his two older brothers, who had entered the Confederate Army and lost their lives in the war, persuaded him to run away and go where they were. He became a drummer boy, and while with the soldiers received a severe wound in the shoulder.  Coming home after the war ended, he drifted to Augusta, GA, having been converted in early life, and it was in this city he felt impressed that he ought to preach, and was licensed to do so.

    In 1880, at the Conference at Rome, GA, he was received on trial, was ordained Deacon in 1883, by Bishop Pierce, and was ordained Elder in 1885 by Bishop Wilson.  On December 27, 1893, he and Miss Florence Hill, of Rome, GA, were married by Rev. George W. Duval, the First Methodist Church, in that city, in which same Church the funeral services were held, Rev. Duval having charge of the services.

    His appointments were as follows: 1881- Hancock Circuit, Junior Preacher; 1882- Clayton Circuit, Junior Preacher to P.L. Stanton; 1883- Clayton Circuit, Junior Preacher to S.D. Evans; 1884-85 Ellijay Circuit; 1886- Dahlonega; 1888-90- Tocoa; 1891-93 - Rome City Mission; 1894-95 – Monroe; 1896- Harmony Grove; 1897- Kingston; 1898- Sunday School Agent; 1899-1901- Kingston; 1902-03- Greensboro; 1904-09- Superintendent Orphan's Home and 1910-11- Supernumerary.  The last six months of 1911 he filled out a vacancy at Battle Hill, Atlanta. At the close of that year, he was made effective, and his appointments were as follows: 1912- Battle Hill, Atlanta; 1913- Kirkwood and East End; 1914- Villa Rica and Temple; 1915- Mt. Vernon, Atlanta and 1916-17- Center Street, Atlanta.  At the close of the Conference of 1917, he felt the time had come to cease his active labors as an iterant, so he asked for and was granted a superannuated relation, after which he made his home near Norcross, Ga., where he passed away November 7th, after a somewhat protracted illness. His health gradually failing this year he was compelled to go to Wesley Memorial Hospital for examination and treatment, and there submitted to a major surgical operation, which disclosed very serious internal troubles. He then went home, and after gradually declining he left this earth for Heaven, surrounded by his family" in 1919 The Official Journal-North Georgia Conference of the Methodist Church, Atlanta, Fulton County, GA.  He sold the land Sold 54 acres of land to Jim J. Gutherie for the amount of $6,250 on 27 October 1919 at Gwinnett County, GA.  He died on 7 November 1919 at Norcross, Gwinnett County, GA.  He was buried on 8 November 1919 at Branham Addition, Terrace "A", Lot 39, Hill Family Plot - Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Rome, Floyd County, GA.

a. Alma Hill Jamison born 18 September 1894 GA. She appeared on the census of 7 June 1900 in the household of Rev. Christopher Columbus Alexander Jamison at Bartow County, GA.  She appeared on the census of 9 January 1920 at 1920 Georgia Census, Atlanta, Fulton County, GA.  She died on 1 January 1990 at Harbor UCLA Medical Center, Los Angles, CA, at age 95.  She was buried on 14 January 1990.

b. Agnes Elizabeth Jamison born 26 September 1896 GA, died 13 June 1985 Granada Hills, CA, married 1923 to George Crowson McKoy born about 1892 GA.  She appeared on the census of 7 June 1900 in the household of Rev. Christopher Columbus Alexander Jamison at Bartow County, GA.  She appeared on the census of 9 January 1920 in the household of Alma Hill Jamison at 1920 Georgia Census, Atlanta, Fulton County, GA.  She married George Crowson McKoy in 1923 at 1930 Georgia Census- Fulton County.  As of 1923, her married name was McKoy. She appeared on the census of 3 April 1930 in the household of Florence Mitchell Hill at 1930 Georgia Census- Fulton County, Atlanta, Atlanta, Fulton County, GA.  She died on 13 June 1985 at Granada Hills Hospital, Granada Hills, CA, at age 88.  She was buried on 17 June 1985 at Oakwood Memorial Park, Chatsworth, CA.

c. Hiram Hill Jamison born 4 October 1899 Bartow County, GA, died 24 July 1949 GA.  He appeared on the census of 7 June 1900 in the household of Rev. Christopher Columbus Alexander Jamison at Bartow County, GA.  He received a gunshot wound to the right side of the head at the age of 9, from stray bullet while on streetcar in 1908.  He appeared on the census of 2 January 1920 in the household of Pvt. Hiram David Hill at 1920 Georgia Census, Rome, Floyd County, GA.  He appeared on the census of 3 April 1930 in the household of Florence Mitchell Hill at 1930 Georgia Census- Fulton County, Atlanta, Atlanta, Fulton County, GA.  He died on 24 July 1949 at Lawson VA Hospital, Chamblee, GA, at age 49.  He was buried on 26 July 1949 at Section 39, Lot 546, Grave 3, West View Cemetery, Atlanta, GA.

d. Cecil Alexander Jamison born 6 April 1905 Dekalb County, GA, married 29 March 1944 in Washington, DC to Mary Eleanor Eastborne Meem born 28 July 1920 DC, died 12 June 1955 PA., daughter of Harry Grant Meem and Louise Hill. He was buried on 22 January 1959 at Section 39, Lot 546, Grave #1, West View Cemetery, Atlanta, GA.

8. Alice E. Jamison born 1852 Fairfield County, SC, died about 1880, married about 1880 to Elias Hood born 16 October 1809, died 1880.  Found in 1860 Fairfield County Census, SC, Page 82, Line 19, living with a family by the name of "John Crumpton"- Planter. She is shown as age 8 years old.  He is listed as "one of the Justices assigned to keep the peace in Fairfield", in the assignment of appraisements for Samuel Duke Estate with John A. Crumpton on 17 December 1840 at Fairfield County, SC. 

a. Adam Dunbar Hood born 26 June 1868 NC, died 14 June 1915 Fairfield County, SC, married Bessie Mae Broome born 1890.  He appeared on the census of 4 August 1870 in the household of Elias Hood at 1870 Fairfield County, SC Census, Fairfield County, SC.  He appeared on the census of 15 April 1910.   He was the Sheriff of Fairfield County- Killed on the steps of the Courthouse in a gun battle by a group of whites while trying to take a Negro to trial for rape on 14 June 1915.

b. Agnes Eugenia Hood born about 1869, died before 1960.

c. Lillie Viola (Hood) Cooper born 10 September 1878 Fairfield County, SC, died 13 February 1960, married 26 March 1899 Richland County, SC to James Logan Kelly.  As of 1880, she was also known as Lillie Viola Cooper. She was adopted in 1880.  She was buried on 15 February 1960 at Elmwood Cemetery, Columbia, Richland County, SC.

9. Luther Banks Jamison born 1855 Fairfield County, SC.  He and his brother Christopher Columbus are cut from his fathers will, due to lack of "affection due his father"- See will of Elias H. Jamison- Fairfield County, SC- This child has never been found in any other record, and is believed to have been farmed out to another family after the death of his mother, as well as the two next youngest children, which might account for the "lack of affection....." aspect on the two boys. 

H. Sarah B. Jamison born 31 January 1810 Kershaw County, SC, died 25 May 1875 Chester County, SC.  Listed on tombstones for Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church Cemetery , Chester County, SC.  Shown on Row #6, just off Highway 97, 8 miles south of Chester. (1/4 mile on Pleasant Grove Road).  She was Administrator of the Estate of Gardner Jamison, filed in Probate Court 4 December 1826.  She was born on 31 January 1810 at Kershaw County, SC.  She witnessed the probate of the estate of David Jamison (Sr.) on 14 January 1833 at Richland County, SC. 

I. David Jamison born 31 January 1810 Kershaw County, SC, died 22 January 1874 Tipton County, TN, married 7 May 1811 Fairfield County, SC to Mary _______ .  From the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Death & Marriage Notices, Volume II, 1866 - 1888: Page # 38, "Died, January 22d, 1874, David Jamison, in the 61st year of his age. He was born in Chester County, SC in 1813, came to Giles County, TN, where he married a Miss Anderson, thence he moved to Tipton County, whence he went to the world where there is no change of place. He leaves a widow, five sons and one daughter."  He witnessed the sale of the land of Sarah Jamison on 30 November 1840 at Chester County, SC.  He witnessed the probate of the estate of John Jamison on 9 May 1845 at SC.
