Thomas William Dawson was born 6 September 1835 in Pendleton, Anderson County, SC, and died 27 November 1892 in Gadsden, Richland County, SC, the son of Rev. Thomas Dawson and Mary Randal Lewis. He was buried at Congaree Baptist Church in Gadsden on 28 November 1892. He married Martha Caroline Hornsby, daughter of James Sanders Hornsby and Mary Ann Miller, on 11 December 1856 in Richland County. She was born 1 October 1833 in Columbia, and died 12 March 1904 in Gadsden. She was also buried at Congaree Baptist Church 13 March 1904.

III. Isadora Dawson born 5 June 1861 in Anderson County, and died 23 February 1895 in Eastover, Richland County. She was buried at Good Hope Baptist Church in Eastover. She married Charles Rufus Sloan, 12 November 1879 in Gadsden, son of William Smiley Sloan and Mary Ann Kleckley. He was born 2 February 1855 in Richland County, and died 12 February 1917 in Richland County.
A. William Thomas Sloan born 29 August 1880 in Richland County, and died 23 November 1951 in Horrell Hill, Richland County, SC. He married 1) Hallie E. Motley 28 December 1908 in Richland County, daughter of Ransom Motley and Kitty McCloud. He married 2) Lula Brooks Johnson.
B. Florence Eveline Sloan born 1 June 1882 in Congaree, Richland County, and died 28 December 1950 in SC. She married Abram Sumter Rawlinson Jr. in 1905.
C. Charles Lee Sloan born 5 May 1884 in Congaree, and died 28 December 1950 in SC. He married 1) Mary Turner in 1916 and 2) Gertrude ?.
D. Carey Tillman Sloan born 10 April 1886 in Richland County, and died 25 February 1959 in Horrell Hill. He married Ruth Kitty Motley December 1908 in Richland County, daughter of Ransom Motley and Kitty McCloud.
E. Mattie May Sloan born 1 February 1888 in Richland County, and died 7 February 1972 in Columbia. She married Henry Fred Caughman Sr., 13 November 1907 in Richland County.
F. Edgar Ray Sloan born 25 April 1890 in Congaree, and died 15 September 1968 in Horrell Hill. He married Alice Lourena McKinnon.
G. George Dawson Sloan born 7 August 1892 in Richland County, and died March 1974 in Dutch Fork, Richland County. He married Eula Rae Sligh.
H. Minnie Ruth Sloan born 10 May 1894 in Richland County, and died 31 August 1896 in Richland County.
IV. William Thomas Dawson born 19 July 1866 in Gasden, and died 03 April 1936 in Mena, Polk County, AR. He married Ella ? in Mena.
V. James Katon Dawson born 12 October 1867 in Gasden, and died 20 December 1928 in Columbia. He was buried at Congaree Baptist Church, 21 December 1928. He married 1) Annie Murphy 20 November 1889 in Richland County, daughter of Thomas and Caroline Murphy. She was born 1 February 1872 in Richland County, and died 30 January 1890 in Gadsden. He married 2) Melchizedek Keziah Campbell 15 March 1894 in Gadsden, daughter of Jesse Daniel Campbell and Ellistine Ellafaire Williams. She was born 21 September 1871 in Gadsden, and died 30 July 1903 in Gadsden. Both wives were buried at Congaree Baptist Church.
A. Thomas Westcott Dawson born 7 April 1895 in Gadsden, and died 1912 in Gadsden.
B. William Katon Dawson born 7 August 1897 in Gasden, and died 17 February 1979 in Columbia. He married Lois Mabel Bass, 3 June 1923 in Richland County, daughter of Thomas McCoy Bass and Cynthia Roella Brown. She was born 25 May 1901 in Aiken County, SC, and died 16 March 1988 in Richland County.
C. Raymond Irby Dawson born 3 October 1899 in Gadsden, and died 17 September 1936 in Columbia. He never married.
D. Milledge Hayward Dawson born 8 July 1901 in Columbia, and died 26 April 1989 in Jacksonville, Duval County, FL. He married Azalea Ada Akins, 1 April 1934 in Jacksonville, daughter of Elias Thomas Akins and Nora Mae Smith.
VI. Lee Hornsby Dawson born 11 November 1869 in Gadsden, and died 7 August 1940 in Ridgeville, Dorchester County, SC. He was buried at Bonny Rest Cemetery in Ridgeville 10 August 1940. He married Rosa Mae Cummings, 31 July 1895 in Ridgeville; she was the daughter of Judge Washington Malphus Cummings Sr. and Victoria Elizabeth Way. No issue.
VII. Annabelle Dawson born 7 June 1872 in Gadsden, and died 12 November 1873 in Gadsden. She was buried at Congaree Baptist Church.
VIII. Sallie Glenn Dawson born 31 January 1874 in Gadsden, and died 5 September 1895 in Richland County. She was buried at Congaree Baptist Church. She married A. H. Levister. No issue.
