Redmond, 66, widower of Rhea Redmond, 11 a.m. Thursday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Beaufort; burial in Bob’s Field O’Rest Cemetery; wake 7-8 tonight at the church. Marshel’s Wright-Donaldson Home for Funerals is in charge. Born in Jasper Co. to Thomas Sr. and Mary Ford Redmond, he died Aug. 1, 2004. Surviving are son, Travis Redmond; 6 siblings.

Born in Ridgeland to Henry and Janie B. Redmond, he died Aug. 2, 2004. Surviving: wife, Edna S. Redmond; children, Herman Jr., Albert, Charles, Marshall, Patricia, Alberta, Pamela; 1 brother; 1 sister; 23 grands; 21 great-grands.

Arthur Simmons, 84, died Friday.
Born in Beaufort County, he was a son of the late Paul and Elizabeth Simmons. He was a retired farmer and a member and deacon of St. Luke Baptist Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Jenkins Simmons; sons Julius Moore of Charleston, Peter Simmons of New York City and Arthur Jr., Simon Sr., and Lawrence Simmons of Ridgeland; daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Cannick and Mrs. Amanda Bryan of New York City; a sister, Mrs. Amanda Nelson of Ridgeland and grandchildren. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Baptist Church, with burial in Lowbottom Cemetery. Sauls Funeral Home is in charge.
