Bethany Cemetery – located at 10 Cunningham St., Charleston, SC. The 52 acre cemetery is owned and supervised at St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Burial records prior to 1904 are included in the church records. Burial records since 1904 are kept in the office located at the cemetery. Many tombstone inscriptions are in the German language. There are also some inscriptions in the Greek language.
“Inscriptions on the Tablets and Gravestones in St. Michael’s Church and Churchyard, Charleston, SC” – to which is added from the church records a list of interments of persons to whom there are no stones.
