Andersonville Baptist Church – From Anderson take Hwy. 24 toward Oconee County. Go approx. six miles. Turn left on Hwy. 187 to sign to Sadlers Creek Park. Go to Villager Store. Turn right. Sign to Andersonville Church. Go 1 mile to church on right.
Armstong Cemetery – Near Barkers Church on the Broadus McGee farm. It was read in 1970. This is a fairly large cemetery with most stones being field rocks and very old. There are a few readable inscriptions and several shaped field slabs. The marble markers found here have all fallen over and most are broken.
Bethany Methodist Episcopal Church – in the woods on left opposite mailbox off Freeman Road about 100 yards near home of Robert Evatt (deceased). This cemetery is off Hwy. 178 going from Liberty to Anderson. Dates are from family bible page of Miss Ruth Boggs. There is one stone that says “Isaac Newton & others buried here.” Another stone tells that Old Bethany Methodist Episcopal Church stood here.
Byrum Burial Ground – Cemetery is near the Anderson Country Club.
Chestnut Ridge Cemetery – Cemetery is in Saluda County, SC. It is in the woods about 1 mile from the present church.
Clardy Family Cemetery – no location information provided

Corinth #1 Baptist Church – no location information provided
Dyson Family Cemetery – In Saluda County near Dyson, SC
Fairview Methodist Church – Take Hwy. 8 from Easley to Pelzer. Look for the Fairview Methodist church sign on the right hand side of the road.
Fielding-Martin Family Cemetery – Take Hwy. 178 from Anderson to Easley. Turn left at the intersection of Hwy. 178 and Hwy. 88. Turn left at the first road. Follow the road until you come to the end of the pine trees. There is a house on the left and a pasture on the right. There is a rock gate post beside the pasture on the right. Follow the wood’s road. Cemetery is near road.
Gambrell (Ezekiel) Burying Ground – Coming from Greenville on Hw. 81, turn at Bethesda Methodist Church to the left. Go a short distance to an intersection. The Elrod home sets in this intersection. In the woods to the back of the house is the burying ground. Ezekiel Gambrell’s wife was Mary Reed.
Garner Cemetery – Cemetery is in the woods on the site of a road in the Ruhamah section near the Walker-McElmoyle community.
Good Hope Presbyterian Church – Take Hwy. 184-S from Iva approx. 4 miles to historical sign Old Moffatsville. Turn right on Parker Bowie Road. Go about 3 miles. On right is large brick house with fence. Turn first road to right past house. Go to 1st crossroads. Turn right. About 100 yards on right, take dirt road to cemetery.
Guthrie Family Cemetery – Cemetery is between Pelzer and Piedmont near the Shiloh Methodist just off Hwy. 85. No fieldstones but the survey information has been proven by Katie Campbell.
Hall Family Cemetery – From Belton take Hwy. 413 to the intersection of Hwy. 28. Turn left on Hwy. 28. Cemetery is near Rockey River.
Hard Shell Baptist site – Located on the Hovey Stegall farm which is between Six and Twenty Creek and Six and Twenty Church, the old wooden building has been gone for a number of years and the stones that are left are not readable. The only stone at this site which can be recorded reads: “Marshall Monroe Martin b. 21 May 1841 d. 16 Jan 1862 Died on Sullivan’s Island s/o Stephen & Sophronia Martin aged 20 yrs, 7 mos, 26 dys. He entered the Confederate Service on 19 Jul 1861 in Col. Orr’s Regiment of Rifles of which he continued a worthy member until his death. He was a devoted son and died the death of a Christian Soldier.”
Martin Cemetery – Near Piercetown on Hwy. 81 in a pasture owned at one time by Gillards. In 1963 owned by Mr. Baker of Centerville community. When the land was being cleared to raise cattle, the cemetery was practically destroyed by a bulldozer before they realized it was a cemetery. There are a few old fieldstones but no markings on them.
Martin Cemetery – Located in a desolate and overgrown area on the farm of Leroy Wilson and on the bank of Six and Twenty Creek about one mile from the old Joe Martin homeplace, located near Six and Twenty Church. The stones are in excellent condition considering the neglect of the burial ground itself; 1962.
Mauldin Family Burial Ground – no location information provided
McAlister Family Burial Ground – The McCallister or McAlister Family burying ground is located on Talmage Sargent farm which is about ½ mile north of Melton School. This is a very old cemetery where all of the grave markers have been fashioned from fieldstones. There is an estimated number of about 25 or 30 graves at this spot, but none of the inscriptions are readable. The only markings that could be seen appear in this survey.
McKinney Private Cemetery site – Information from Mrs. Florence Wilson living in the Mt. View section of Anderson County, when she was 88 years old in 1970. There are no stones here today (1987). This burial ground was on her property.
Mobley Cemetery – Cemetery is located in the woods on the “Old Charleston Road” between Saluda and Ward, SC; 1968
Moore Private Cemetery site – Mrs. Robert Wigington near Mt. Springs Baptist Church says that in the pasture across the road from the front of the church is the Moore Family burying ground. There is no trace of it today (1969). Mr. Moore, owner of Moore’s Variety Store, Piedmont, is a descendant of this family.

Newton Private Cemetery – Cemetery is in the McElmoyle community on James R. Ables’ farm. Cemetery site had 7 graves marked with fieldstones – none readable. Samuel W. Newton, great grandfather and William T. Newton, grandfather of Rufus Newton are buried here. He did not know anything about the other 30 graves. Information was taken in 1970 from Rufus Newton, age 77, who lived in the Walker-McElmoye community of Anderson County.
Orr-Wilson Cemetery – Cemetery is in a small patch of woods on Hwy. 81 to Greenville near R. M. Merritt; 1963.
Pendleton Presbyterian Church – Church in downtown Pendleton; established in 1789.
Pickens Cemetery – Take Hwy. 8 from Easley to Pelzer. Just across the Pickens County line, turn right on S-485 to Slabtown. Go several miles to eh Lighthouse Baptist Church. Historical maker in front. The cemetery is behind the church. This cemetery is on Pickens’ land. It is the cemetery of Richmond, Six & Twenty, and Carmel Church. All these churches are former names for the present Carmel Presbyterian Church.
Providence Church [Old Providence Methodist Church] – From Anderson take Hwy. 24 toward Oconee County. Go approx. six miles. Turn left of Hwy. 187. Sign to Sadlers Creek Park. Go about 4.2 miles. Turn right at Roberts Church. Go to Stoney Creek Cove. Stay straight. Church on right opposite golf course.
Richey Burial Ground – Located just past Hard Shell Baptist Church site on Lockaby Farm, this site is located on the banks of Six and Twenty Creek in an old neglected field overgrown with vines and thorn bushes. The plot itself contains two beautifully carved marble headstones. Wrought iron fence.
Reed (Sallie) Burial Ground – Cemetery is near Belton.
Sharon Methodist Church – Take Hwy. 88 between Pendleton and Slabtown. Go pass the road to Central (S-39-18) 1.7 miles. Turn left on S-4-163. Go 8/10 of a mile to intersection of Burdette Drive and Hwy. 163. Church is on left, cemetery is on right. Established 1873.
Simpson Family Cemetery – Located at the North Simpson farm owned by Clemson University.
Slabtown Cemetery – Cemetery is in the Three and Twenty Community; 1963
Smith’s Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church South – From Anderson on Hwy. 24, turn left on Greenville Extension to I-85 but keep straight on frontage road one mile. Church on right; 1985.
Snowhill Methodist Cemetery – Located in the Piercetown community on the Walter Stegall farm. All the stones were not readable. This is a very large cemetery with a lot of old fieldstone markers. These stones are so old and weatherbeaten it is impossible to find any sort of inscription on them. All of the marble stones have fallen but in 1965 the inscriptions above (in survey) were readable. The church was disbanded many years ago.
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church – Established in 1822 in Pendleton, SC.
St. Paul’s Methodist Church – Located between Easley and Powdersville.
Stone Burial Ground – On old Greenville-Anderson highway. There is no trace of this cemetery today (1987). (George Stone d. 25 Jun 1865 aged 57 years)
Timms Family Cemetery – From I-85 go north US 178 toward Easley five miles. Turn right on Rogers Road. This road ends in one mile by intersecting with Five Forks Road. Follow to Walker Road (2 ½ miles). Turn right (3 miles) on Walker Road to standing chimney and old barn on left next to a white-framed dwelling with a brick home across the road. A pasture is on the left next to a white framed house. Go about three hundred yards on left side up the hill to a clump of young trees to the Old Timms Burying Ground. This is on Walker property; 1988.
Townville Baptist Church – Church is located downtown Townville on Hwy. 24; 1985.
Tucker Cemetery – Follow the directions to Hall Family Cemetery above. Tucker Cemetery is on opposite side of Rockey River.

Watkins Family Cemetery – Take Hwy. 178 from Anderson to Easley. Turn right on S-3-57 “Six and Twenty Road” across from the McElmoyle Fire Station. Go past the creek and you will see one house on the right. Go past this house to the next driveway (Harold Martin Farm). The cemetery is on the right in a group of oak trees. The cemetery has been destroyed by cattle and horses. Sept. 5, 1987. The above (in book survey) markers have been moved to Willis Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery on Hwy. 178 from Liberty to Anderson by the Watkins Family.
Willis Chapel Methodist Church – Take Hwy. 178 from Anderson to Easley. Pass the Lebanon Community. The cemetery is on the hill beyond McAbee’s Grocery. It is beside the road in a group of trees.
